For some reason, there are two default map tags that you have to change.ĩ) Change to false. It will not be under that only happens after the game moves your spouse to the farm.ħ) In your real save file, change the, ,, , and tags to the values that they have in your reference file. It seems like they don't exist in a nonmarried save file)Ĥ) Find your spouse's NPC data-it will be after or ĥ) You'll see this kind of thing: (I've added formatting, but it'll just be a wall of text) AbigailĦ) Ctrl+F and find your spouse's NPC data in your reference save file (the new game you made in step one). (This is gonna the best way to find what you need).ģ) Find and delete spousename (Delete the tags too. Your save files should be located in C:\Users(YourName)\AppData\Roaming\StardewValley\Saves.Ġ) Always a good idea to back up your save file before you try something.ġ) Open Stardew Valley and make a new game to use as a reference file (or use a different save game where you aren't married to that spouse).Ģ) Open the save file you want to change and Ctrl+F your spouse's name.
I recommend WordPad-it's a wall of text either way, but it's much easier to scan through in WordPad. But I have a theory about it, which I'll mention at the end (it'll make more sense that way).įor anyone who doesn't know, the way you open your save file is (in Windows) to right click on it, click "Open With" and select NotePad or WordPad. I've never had a save file with kids in it. I'm not sure how this process interacts with kids, if you have them. Sorry if this is common knowledge, but I couldn't find it anywhere else.
In case this is useful to anyone (or in case divorce doesn't make it in 1.1, and people want to switch to Emily and Shane), I thought I'd post it here.
